Extruder preheat sets to 0 when trying to print

So every time I turn it on, go to start a print, the temperature flashes the correct temperature, then sets it to 0. I upgraded the new firmware, I believe I followed the directions correctly, including unplugging the LCD. Also when it gets turned on, it makes a weird humming noise for a couple minutes and then the fans turn on.

    Hi @assaultbob5, welcome!

The fans are not high quality. Adding a small amount of machine oil to the fans will help them run smoother.

Regarding the heating errors, please try heating and printing while connected to pronterface: http://JGAurorawiki.com/pronterface
