Nozzle catching supports

New owner so getting used to dialing in the machine to how I want it - I've noticed the print head catching on supports a few times, and just had a fairly major layer shift (which I assume is because of it) - will the Z Hop setting on cura counteract this at all?

    Welcome @Lee Rossi  ,
Is this PLA or ABS? A cold room can cause print curling, which can cause this kind of thing. Z hop can introduce vertical strings that I think could make the problem worse not better... :expressionless:
